Rashandra F. Laws, DNP, APRN, NP-C, PMHNP-BC, is a nurse practitioner with more than 10 years of healthcare experience. She brings a broad clinical background in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and care coordination, with a commitment to providing personalized care to every patient.
Dr. Laws has extensive experience caring for patients across the lifespan and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and coordinate individualized treatment plans. Her clinical experience includes evaluating patients, ordering and interpreting laboratory testing, providing acute and clinical care and working closely with patients and their healthcare providers to support their overall health and well-being.
She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Master of Science in nursing with a focus in family nurse practitioner from Alcorn State University. She also completed post-master’s certificates in adult-gerontology acute care at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and psychiatric mental health nursing at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Before joining Merit Health River Region, Dr. Laws served as a family nurse practitioner with Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and Serenity Premier Hospice. She also served as a nursing instructor at Hinds Community College, giving her a strong foundation in both clinical practice and nursing education.
As a member of the Merit Health River Region urology team, Dr. Laws is dedicated to helping patients receive compassionate, coordinated care while supporting the needs of referring providers and the patients they serve.
